Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 September 2026

Faithship (“Faithship,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share your personal data when you use Faithship — our website (faithship.online), web application, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this Policy, please discontinue use of the Service. This Policy should be read alongside our Terms of Service.

1. Who We Are

Faithship is owned and operated by Pure Light Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 17433578). Pure Light Ltd is the data controller responsible for your personal data under this Policy.

2. What Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide

2.2 Payment information

Faithship does not store or process your payment card details. All payments are handled by Stripe, our payment processor. When you subscribe to Faithship Pro, Stripe collects and processes your payment information in accordance with its own privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy. We receive limited information from Stripe, including subscription status, transaction IDs, and the last four digits of your payment card (for receipt purposes only).

2.3 Information collected automatically

Usage data is collected through server logs and Google Analytics 4, our analytics provider. We enable Google’s IP-address anonymisation so that analytics data is stored in aggregate form wherever possible. We use this data only to understand how the Service is used and to improve it — we do not run advertising, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not share analytics data for advertising purposes.

2.4 AI processing data

When you request a devotional, your selected topic, language preference, and (optionally) your journal history are sent to our AI provider (DeepSeek) to generate personalised reflections. Scripture verses are queried verbatim from verified public domain Bibles — no AI generation of Scripture occurs at any point. AI processing data is not used to train models and is not retained by the AI provider beyond the generation session.

In the event of a business transfer (for example, a sale of Faithship), your data may be transferred as a business asset. You will be notified before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

We may also disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal requests by public authorities.

5. International Data Transfers

Faithship is based in the United Kingdom. Some of our service providers operate in the United States and the European Union. Where your data is transferred outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including:

6. Data Retention

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

7. Cookies

Faithship uses two categories of cookies:

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not allow third-party advertising trackers on the Service. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time, and you can accept or decline analytics at any time through the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. Accepting and declining are equally easy, and declining analytics has no effect on how the Service works. Essential cookies are necessary for the Service and do not require consent.

8. Children’s Privacy

Faithship is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data without your consent, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. Your Rights

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), you have the following rights:

Access
Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Rectification
Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
Erasure
Request deletion of your personal data (the “right to be forgotten”).
Restriction
Request restriction of processing in certain circumstances.
Portability
Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
Objection
Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
Withdraw consent
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@faithship.online. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

10. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication (industry-standard one-time codes), access controls limiting data access to authorised providers only, and regular security reviews of our hosting infrastructure (Cloudflare). However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Where changes are material, we will notify you via email (to the address associated with your account) or by a prominent notice within the Service at least 30 days before the change takes effect.

12. Contact Us

For questions, concerns, or to exercise your data rights, contact us at privacy@faithship.online.

A quiet note about analytics

Faithship uses one analytics tool — Google Analytics — to see which pages are helpful, so we can make the site better. It is the only tracking we use. No advertising, no selling data, and nothing about how the app works changes for you either way.

Your choice is saved on this device. You can change it any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
